Well, unfortunately there’s no clear-cut answer, because the Hispanic segment in the U.S. does not fall neatly into one category. In one way or another, Latinos in the U.S. are exposed to a combination of languages daily. It may be in a Spanish newspaper in the morning, an English language billboard on their commute, or a Spanglish episode of Ugly Betty at home. And although it is not clear which language to use; it is clear that understanding the culture is necessary to engage them effectively.
